Victoria ML Holland is an Associate at NIKA LAW LLP, where she practises exclusively in the areas of estate planning, estate administration, guardianship, estate and capacity related litigation. Prior to joining NIKA LAW LLP, Victoria practiced at a boutique estate law firm where she gained experience and focused on estate and fiduciary litigation including dependent support claims, power of attorney disputes, and Elder Law. She is keen to leverage her litigation experience in her estate planning files by helping clients mitigate post-mortem risks preventatively by drafting well-thought-out wills and power of attorneys.
Victoria obtained her Honours Bachelor of Arts at the University of Toronto with a Major in Philosophy, Minor in Ethics, Law & Society, and Minor in Sociology. Victoria’s academic background provides her with a deeper understanding of ethical theories and their application in various social contexts; for example, the various ethical issues concerning end-of-life decisions, capacity, and consent.
Victoria participated in a legal clinic during her time at law school that focused on assisting low- income families with their civil legal needs which sparked her interest in promoting accessibility to justice. Since then, Victoria has continued her Pro Bono efforts by providing free legal information, which is published on LegalLine.ca.
Victoria treats every client as unique and is accommodating to their individual needs. Her approach to dispute resolution is assist clients in finding creating and practical solutions – wherever possible, out of the courtroom.
Outside of the office, Victoria enjoys a twilight tee time, swimming laps, and cuddling with her fur babies.
