MEET JASMINE
Jasmine joined NIKA LAW LLP as an articling student after graduating from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and has since been called to the Ontario Bar. She is now an Associate Lawyer with the firm, where she focuses on estate planning and estate litigation.
Jasmine is an Affiliate member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is working towards completing the STEP Canada Diploma in Trusts and Estates.
She is passionate about helping clients navigate complex estate planning and estate administration matters and continues to build her practice in this area.
During law school, Jasmine gained valuable legal experience as a Research Assistant, where she focused on legal and ethical considerations related to Medical Assistance in Dying. She also completed a clinical placement at Downtown Legal Services in the Refugee and Immigration Division, where she researched legal issues and drafted
submissions for matters heard at various levels of the Canadian court system. In addition, Jasmine was actively involved in student leadership and advocacy as a Volunteer Case Worker with the Canadian Association for Refugee Lawyers, an Executive in the Faculty's Peer Mentor Program, and a Student Investigator with the International Human Rights Program.
Before attending law school, Jasmine completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts with High Distinction at the University of Toronto, majoring in Sociology with double minors in Ethics, Law, and Society, and Environmental Law and Policy.
Outside of the office, Jasmine enjoys travelling, going on long hikes with her husky, and tackling the daily New York Times crossword puzzle.
