Jonathan practices at NIKA LAW LLP as both an estate planner and a litigator with a passion for assisting clients through their Wills, Estates, and Elder Law matters.
Prior to joining NIKA LAW LLP, Jonathan worked at a boutique litigation firm where he gained experience in estate litigation, civil litigation, family law, as well as corporate and commercial law. Jonathan’s prior litigation experience has given him a unique understanding of the relationship that those other areas of law share with both estate planning and estate litigation.
As a planner, Jonathan’s priority is ensuring that clients’ Will and Power of Attorney documents reflect their intentions. Through a comprehensive client-intake process, Jonathan breaks down the planning process and effectively advises clients on how to best meet their estate planning objectives.
Jonathan has experience advocating for clients on a broad range of estate law issues, including cases involving will challenges, dependent relief claims, power of attorney challenges, and passing of accounts. Jonathan is sensitive to how emotionally driven estate litigation can be and prioritizes compassion as he works with clients and navigates the litigation process.
During law school, Jonathan developed a passion for advocacy while competing in both Canadian and U.S. moot competitions. Jonathan was also an active volunteer within his community and continued his commitment to tutoring high school students, serving as a classroom facilitator for Windsor Law Highschool Outreach.
Outside of the office, Jonathan enjoys playing hockey, watching movies, and experimenting with gourmet cooking.
